Black toilet paper

Here's a Lundby mystery that has bugged me for a while: Why the black toilet paper roll in some 1980s and 90s bathroom sets? Both sets I'm thinking of have light yellow fixtures with black shower hoses and toilet seats.

I don't know about you, but I have yet to see black toilet paper in real life, so this Lundby quirk doesn't quite ring true. Maybe I'm too much of a purist, but white and pink toilet paper make much more sense to me!

White toilet paper in red tile bathroom set--that's more like it!

Extra pink toilet paper rolls on shelf of pink bathroom bidet (repapered)--also more true to life:

  1. I didnt know there was Lundby black toilet paper, as my bathroom with the black hose does not have a toilet.
It doesnt sound good, who would want black paper, yuk!

  2. Julie we were just in Portugal learning about the Anussim( marranos) and there is very hip- cool BLACK!!!! toilet paper there -we saw it in a resturant and my husband David tried to get the owner to sell him a roll- but in the end he only took a few squares to show people. the Guy said he had to go to Lisbon to get it so he didnt want to sell any of it. 3. Martha, great story! So I guess that makes Lundby hip-cool for having black toilet paper, too? I hope you had a great trip. Happy new year!
